Growing Places Indy (GPI) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower the community through wholesome, wellness initiatives that include urban agriculture, local food access, and mind-body education. Access to a variety of resources opens up engagement opportunities for anyone looking to get involved in the Indy wellness community. Now, some of their most immersive programs are open and awaiting applicants. Are you ready to Grow Well, Eat Well, Live Well, Be Well?
GPI has opened its applications for both a 6-week Summer Apprenticeship Program (SAP) and a High School Program (HSP.) These are hands-on, immersive experiences that exist for dedicated and passionate individuals looking to better their community and themselves. The programs have an across the board agenda, consisting of farm work, fundraising, community engagement, youth education, and more. Participants can expect to leave the program with an empowered sense of self-confidence, a solid foundation of a wellness lifestyle, and lasting connections with
“Summer programming at GPI serves as a springboard for people hoping to gain insight and enrich the community. As a group, we dig deep into our thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and actions to discover new habits for true happiness and success in our lives and the impact we have on our community,” said Kat Reiner Director of Education and Outreach for GPI. “Participants learn to grow, harvest, and prepare fresh local food, and they’re able to understand the deeper connection they have with the earth, themselves, and their community.”
SAP runs from June 17 – August 3 with orientation beginning on June 14th. More details and registration can be found here.
