8 Healthy Things to Do in Indy This Weekend

This week started off rainy and wet, but the weekend is finally here! And tomorrow marks the official first day of summer but the weekend is looking, well, wet but there are plenty of fun activities for the entire family. Here are eight ways to get out of the house and get moving this weekend.


Monumental Yoga

The Circle City will host its seventh annual Monumental Yoga on International Day of Yoga in the heart of Downtown Indianapolis. Monument Circle will come alive with yogis of all levels, shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and ages to celebrate the ancient practice benefiting Indy Yoga Movement; a local nonprofit working with schools to empower youth to overcome challenges using yoga and mindfulness. Exposing children to yoga at a young age is a perfect way to help them understand the importance of taking care of their bodies. Grab your little ones and stretch it out with a 60-minute yoga class. 23rd Annual Sickle Cell 5K Walk/Run

The Annual Sickle Cell 5K Walk/Run continues to be one of the longest running charity fundraising events in Central Indiana.  It’s an opportunity to raise awareness about Sickle Cell Disease, while raising funds to support the work of the Martin Center Sickle Cell Initiative. Ice Cream 5K to Benefit Riley Hospital for Children

This family-friendly 5K, along White River State Park, features a 1-Mile, Baby/Toddler Crawl/Walk and of course ice-cream. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Riley Hospital for Children.
