The Ultimate Guide to Ice Skating Around Indianapolis

It’s officially ice skating season, and we got you covered with the best places to skate. From toning your core to lifting your glutes, ice skating is an effective and fun way to work out this winter. If that’s not your goal, then skating is a fun way to stay active while having some fun with friends and family. We’ve compiled a list of the best ice skating spots around town.

Pop Weaver Youth Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center

1202 East 38th Street Indianapolis, IN 46205

The Pop Weaver Youth Pavilion is attached to the famous Indiana Farmers Coliseum and Cheri Daniels Arena, which is now managed by the Fuel Tank staff. Customers will continue to enjoy skating activities from September to February. Public skating sessions are on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Admission: $9/person; $3 skate rental


Fuel Tank at Fishers

9022 East 126th Street, Fishers

Formerly the FORUM at Fishers. Public skating is offered daily. Click here for the schedule. The Fuel Tank host the USFS Basic Skills program. Students are assigned to ca lass based on skill level. Classes are offered year-round for ages three and up at all skill levels. Skaters will learn proper skating techniques to enjoy skating in any on-ice situation.

Admission: $9/person; $12 for Cosmic Rock N Skate w/ Live DJ; $3 skate rental


Federal Hill Commons Ice Plaza

175 W Logan St, Noblesville

Noblesville’s holiday tradition has officially returned! Federal Hill Commons Ice Plaza welcomes all ages to skate, and rental ice skates range from kid to adult sizes. IU Health Saxony Hospital has partnered with the parks department to provide skating aids for skaters needing extra support while on the ice. Skate rental is included in the admission fee, but guests may bring their skates. 

Admission: $12 for those ages 13 and older; $10 for those ages 12 and younger; rates of $10 are available for groups of 6 or more and those patrons participating on themed nights. 


The Ice at Center Green

10 Center Green, Carmel

Ice at Center Green in the heart of beautiful Carmel aims to provide a fun and affordable way for families, friends, and co-workers to get outdoors and enjoy Carmel’s chilly winters together, open until the beginning of March. Food and beverages are available or slip on over to City Center, Midtown or the Carmel Arts & Design District to enjoy some great local fare. 

Admission: Youth and Adults 11 & Older- $10 per session; $4 skate rental

Carmel Ice Skadium

1040 3rd Avenue SW, Carmel

Carmel Ice Skadium offers a friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy ice skating while listening to music and socializing with family, and friends. You can also experience Cosmic Skating when they turn down the lights and turn up the heat with theatrical lighting, special effects, and awesome music. Hang out with your friends and have a cool time! Usually every Friday and Saturday night.

Admission: $8 public skate; $10 cosmic skate; $6.75 kids 10 and under; $4 skate rental


Arctic Zone Iceplex Westfield

16616 Southpark Drive, Westfield

Public Skating is a program open to individuals of all ages, whether you are a seasoned ice skater or just trying it for the first time. The Arctic Zone Iceplex offers a friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy ice skating while listening to music and socializing with family, friends and possibly meeting new people. Public Skating is also a perfect time to host a birthday party or other social event.

Admission: $6.75/person under 10; $8 public skate; $10 cosmic skate; $3 skate rental
