Social isolation has presented a daunting task for all of us to remain healthy during this tough time, but with the help of these Indy health and fitness providers, staying healthy and stimulated isn’t so difficult!

Community Herbalism Demonstration

Want to learn how plants can keep you happy and healthy? Community Herbalist Greg Monzel from the Wild Persimmon School of Wellbeing in Indianapolis will be going live on Facebook at from 10-11 am this Friday to talk all things syrups, teas, and extracts, as well as provide tips and practical demonstrations as to how you can incorporate herbalism into your own daily routine. This event is free, though donations are accepted and appreciated.

Virtual Pilates Class with Club Pilates

Join Club Pilates and Indy Maven for some Friday Pilates to strengthen and tone your muscles from home and for free! Master Pilates Instructor Jenna Thormodsgaard will provide a good sweat and a step away from your perhaps monotonous at-home routine. Hit the mat from 11 am-12 pm and tune in via Facebook LIVE.

Virtual Yoga Workshop for All-level Yogis

Roll out your mat and tune in with Kompose Yoga’s Virtual Yoga Workshop: Begin Where You Are, where they will be providing you the opportunity to learn yoga basics from the safety and comfort of your own home. The focus of the session is on safe, proper alignment rather than the pressure of “perfect posing,” so no need to fret if you are new to the yoga scene. Attendance costs $25 per mat, and the workshop will take place from 12:30-2 pm over Zoom, so be sure to download the Zoom app and register in advance to reserve your spot. You will receive the Zoom meeting link 15 minutes before the class. Prepare to quiet your mind and stretch your limbs!

Virtual Dance Fitness Class

Join Erin this Sunday from 3-4 pm for an online Dance Fit class through Youtube Live! This same class also will take place Saturday at 10 am if you prefer a morning workout, and is free to the public. For a fun, sweaty, and upbeat dance party, as well as a major mood-booster to start your week, attend this class via the link below.

Virtual Monthly Challenge: May Miles for Beer!

The Indiana Brewery Running Series is continuing their efforts to be active and give back by encouraging Indy residents to join in on their Virtual Running Challenge. This challenge lasts the entire month of May and no, it’s not too late to join and win a variety of awesome prizes! Those that are up for the challenge are asked to sign up for a free Strava account or another tracking app, and the farther your go, the more you win! $5 of the $45 registration fee is donated to the Indianapolis Independent Relief Fund, a nonprofit organization that supports food and alcohol industry workers in need of health, financial, or personal help during this time or long term.

Be sure to respect the social distancing guidelines while you are running, but you are free to grab your dog or those who you have been isolating with and get moving!
