The reason why diets fail. It took me years to figure this out and accept this fact. . I have lost weight eating 100% clean. But i have gotten my to my leanest and most sustainable weight eating nachos, burgers and peanut butter cups. ⠀⠀⠀ It's not about the food types but: ✅Total calories consumed ✅Macro portions of protein, carbs and fat. . All foods fit when portion awareness and nutritional science is applied. This is what we call flexible dieting. Overall I eat 80% clean and 20% of the time I eat whatever is good to my soul. Nachos are everything! . If you can’t eat the way you are eating to lose the weight forever, it won’t last. . Reverse dieting after you get there, eating the foods you love keeps the weight off but we will save that for another lesson! . #nachoAverageCoach 📸 @3muh

When I first seriously began my vegan journey I was super dedicated. Lots of trying new things and lots of trial and error. I can’t deny the benefits of a meat and dairy free diet. My skin is clearer which is big for me because I tend to be acne prone. My digestion has improved as well. I was COMPLETELY vegan for 4 months and got down to 158…3 pounds away from my ideal weight for my height (5’10). Not to mention I was teaching at least 3 TrapCycle classes a week. My mama said I looked like I needed a cheeseburger 🍔 😂😂😂 I was mad skinny. About a month and a half ago I added fish back into my diet 2 times a week (usually weekends). I missed sushi 🍣 LIKE REALLY BAD!!! Today I’m 165 and working on gaining muscle 💪🏾🍑. I’m sure I could have started gaining more on my vegan diet if I ate more carbs and protein but I’m not about depriving yourself of the things you love to eat. THAT CANNOT BE LIFE! Everything in moderation. I’m still dairy and meat free, but u might catch ya girl at a sushi bar on the weekends. If u see me say what’s up! 😃 #flexatarian #tbt #veganbae #sortof #trapcycle #spininstructor #shoutouttomyspinbike

Meet our owner, @thegirlnamedcharlie! You can catch her teaching Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm. . "I started my Yoga practice in 2010, because I thought it would be a great workout for me as a former student of ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. What I thought was just exercise turned out to be so much more. Yoga has taught me to be patient and gentle, how to check in mentally and physically, and the importance of breathing through the good and the bad. The lessons that I learn on my mat are ones that I apply not only to my physical yoga practice but also to my everyday life. Through my yoga practice, I can continue to “do the work” to be the best person that I can. I am Yoga Alliance experienced registered teacher (E-RYT) at the 200-hour level. I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Instructor training at @yogadistrict, a donation based yoga studio in Washington D.C, in 2015. During my training I focused on teaching yoga in a way adaptable and inclusive of all body types. My time as an Americorps Public Ally sparked my passion for creating affirming and inclusive spaces for marginalized groups. Popular yoga and fitness culture often does not cultivate inclusive environments for people of color, people with disabilities, people with round bodies, people of different gender expressions, the LGBTQ+ community, people of lower socioeconomic backgrounds, etc. As a community organizer and activist with a passion for social justice, I see the dire need for spaces that actively address inequities and are welcoming to all people. My identity and personal experience drive my passion for creating healthy and affirming environments for all people. Everyone has the capability to live healthfully but not everyone has access to the programs and education to show them their options. In regards to minority populations, there are very few programs that seek to inform about and facilitate healthy lifestyle choices in the community. I have heard time and again from people in community spaces that they know yoga can be great for them but they cannot afford it. I have made it my mission to teach a yoga and fitness that meets them where they are monetarily and physically.”
