It’s officially autumn and the anticipated fall event of the season is back! Harvest at Newfields, is back and will be a month-long outdoor celebration and a brand new spooky nighttime experience. Beginning Oct. 2 and continuing through Oct. 25, Harvest will feature two main components, Harvest Days and Harvest Nights. This year’s Harvest has been built with the safety and well-being of our guests and staff in mind. With Harvest being outside on the Newfields campus, guests will be able to spread out and socially distance themselves from others across nearly 30 acres.
Newfields will come to life under the harvest moon with a brand-new nighttime ticketed event from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Harvest Nights is a 90-minute, spooky experience where guests will stroll down a long path tucked away in the woods on Newfields’ campus. This trail will follow a winding route filled with hundreds of illuminated pumpkins. Guests will travel through the woods, over the fog-laden Interurban Bridge, and past the Tanner Orchard scattered with scarecrows. Young and old will be in awe of the walk lit with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, a mystical ghost train, and a grand finale at Mischief Manor, a virtual party projected onto the historic Lilly House. As always, don’t miss a stop in The Beer Garden where guests can enjoy beer, wine, and spirits of the season curated by Newfields’ own Culinary Arts team. The nightly event will bring ghosts and friends alike together in a spooky (but not scary) event under the stars that will be fun for everyone in the family. Think Winterlights with jack-o-lanterns cascading from the trees, rather than holiday lights.
Newfields’ breathtaking horticulture displays return to Harvest with more color and wonder than ever before. Harvest Days will be included with general admission to Newfields Tuesdays through Sundays in October from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature magnificent views as fall colors The Garden with its beautiful backdrops. Take in the crisp air beneath hundred-year-old trees, discover cornucopias of squash, and pumpkins as you wander, and discover the magic of the autumn season. Again, this year, we’ll have over 10,000 Indiana-grown pumpkins and gourds on display throughout campus. On the first four weekends in October, Newfields guests, families, and friends are invited to participate in art-making activities, shop food, and beverage from local vendors, unwind while listening to live music, take in the mesmerizing fall campus, and much more. Pavilion partners for this year’s Harvest are Liter House, McClure’s Apple Orchard, Oliver Winery, Smoking Goose, Sun King Brewing Co., and West Fork Whiskey. Weekend highlights include:
October 3 & 4: Apples, Family & Fun
Families are sure to love a visit from McClure’s Apple Orchard based in Peru, Indiana where they can pet animals and enjoy all things apple-like apple slushies, caramel apples, apple slices, and much more! Bring your friends and family out to stroll The Garden to see it in all its glory in the daylight hours. Kick-off Harvest with art-making activities such as pumpkin painting and flower crown making. Sit and stay awhile in The Beer Garden to try seasonal menu items hand-selected by our very own Culinary Arts team, as well as special selections from Jones Kettle Corn and Sun King Brewing Co.
October 10 & 11: Beer Fest
Calling all craft beer fans! Travel a world of flavors with a Beer Passport as you sample beers selected from our favorite local breweries including Sun King Brewing Co., Four Day Ray, Bier Brewery, Big Lug Brewing, Ash & Elm Cider Co., along with other local brews and a curated selection of rare imports from Germany. Enjoy live music as you sip and enjoy the brews of the season. Friend’s Custom Flights will be back onsite if you are looking for the perfect gift for any beer enthusiast.
October 17 & 18: Community Days
There is something for everyone on the third weekend in October at Newfields. Guests are invited to an educational farmers’ market, offering experiences with local growers and the opportunity to purchase fresh local produce. We have invited our Community Meal partners; Flanner House of Indianapolis, Groundwork Indy, Growing Places Indy, Lawrence Community Gardens, and Riverside Regional Park Foundation to share their expertise with all Harvest guests. Don’t forget to try favorites from Gordon’s Milkshakes, Pi Indy, and Jones Kettle Corn while at Newfields.
October 24 & 25: If You’ve Got It, Haunt It!
Say farewell to Harvest 2020 with an Instagram worthy sweet and savory brunch pop-up from The Gallery Pastry Shop, West Fork Whiskey, and Tinker Coffee Co. Oliver Winery will be there to celebrate with a mimosa bar of course. Throughout the day, guests will be able to enjoy pumpkin painting and a self-guided pumpkin treasure hunt sponsored by Corteva Agriscience.
Harvest Nights Tickets: Tickets prices are: Public Adults $25, Member Adults $20, Public Youth $17, Member Youth $12, free for children five and under. Tickets will be available every half hour from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. In compliance with State and local mandates, advanced ticket reservations are required.
Harvest Days Tickets: Tickets are included in General Admission to Newfields and free for members. Harvest Days is open during all regular Newfields hours. In compliance with State and local mandates, advanced ticket reservations are required, and tickets are available every half hour.

For the safety of all guests and staff, a mask will be required for all guests over the age of two, while on the Newfields campus, including all indoor and outdoor spaces. All Newfields employees will be required to wear a face-covering or mask. Newfields will continue to adhere to all government restrictions regarding limits on crowd-sizes by maintaining a reduced capacity onsite.
